The Growers We Drive Four Hours For

Four hours each way

There is a farm outside Faversham that grows nine tomato varieties on half a hectare. Nothing about the economics of driving there twice a week makes sense on a spreadsheet. We do it anyway, and the reason is simple: the tomatoes taste like something.

What we look for

Small growers, short rows, and someone who answers the phone. We do not ask for organic certification and we do not ask for exclusivity. We ask what is good this week and we build the menu around the answer, which is why the menu changes on Tuesdays.

Three farms carry most of our produce. All three have told us no at least once. That is how we know they are honest.
